Stanley hand planer restoration

In this restoration, I am restoring an old Stanley Bailey hand planer. This planer has seen quite a bit of work in its day and was then thrown into a tool tote and forgotten…. I found it while cleaning my garage and decided to give it a new life. I will actually be using it shortly as I am planning on changing all the doors in my home. I had a look at the prices of these Stanley planers and was shocked at how expensive they were, so restoring this one to brand new condition will be a great reward financially as well as emotionally. I hope you enjoy this restoration and if you do, don’t be shy to give it a thumbs up. Great content! Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
What type of wire wheel did you use? What type of metal compass the wires? Is it brass for example? And what did you use to polish? Looked like some type of stones was applied to the polishing disk.
Thank you!
